Yes it is a great pipe and yes it is pretty loud. I would recommend it. My buddy has one and he is very happy with his.

i have a yoshi rs-3 slip-on what wuold be louder this or the hmf if i got the fullsystem with quiet core or sumthing

I have an HMF slip on and i love it....its pretty loud but doesnt hurt my ears or anything, i love the sound! I also have a queit core for when i ride at the dunes, and it quiets it down a lot! I'm very happy with HMF

i have an HMF slip on... i dont think that its really loud.... it is realy loud compaired to stock... but i have heard louder where i ride... like the piped CRF and YZF bikes i think are louder...

i have an HMF..its not too terribly loud but the power gain is huge. In my opinion all the other brands are a waste of money. HMF is inexpensive and works great.
