Second how is there Hare scramlble course?

I have been riding in the woods of PA for 20 years and I would like to try racing this spring, but im NOT doing MX.

Do u know if any of the tracks will let you practice?
I have never raced and I would like to see and try the coarse before I decide if I want to race.

R&D raceway near finleyville, pa is a nice XC track. It was fairly easy this year i would think for a beginner. They might let you practice on the track - i think they have practice days for their MX track. There are no more races there this year though.

www.topendproductions.com for directions & phone number, etc.

I think hopp's switchback has a race next weekend. i never raced there but it looked to be a pretty tough track and they ran part of it on thier MX track, but i don't think it was a very long loop. I only walked part of it but there were some steep hills, etc.

I raced switchback last year and i was not impressed with the track. They seemed to use the same track over and over again. They are limited on space and track is torn up alot.

Switchbacks XC track is fairly small. Prob. about 2-3 miles and its definately a good track to hit if you wanna get in shape. Its pretty well rutted up and a physical track. But its really fast also. I personally like messing around there.

The MX track is fairly quad friendly and pretty fast. Not much elevation change except a big uphill step up. But nothing major......bout 3 gear pinned will get you too the top, but barely. I wouldnt make any long trips to hit the track, but i live 40 min. away so its not bad for me.
