I know I sound really stupid saying this but what does "no-link" as in a no-link frame or front end mean?

There is no such thing as a no link front end. Well acutual i gues every front end is a no link. But no link means that the linkage that the rear shok would normaly mount to is removed and the shock mounts directly to the swing arm. It gives more travel.

I saw a no link swingarm and shock on ebay, and it's odvious that there is no linkage, I've known that a while I don't remember where I heard that, And then I asked 300exrida what the advantages of a no link are and he said they offer more travel then one with a linkage, I also heard a couple other people say that.

Well theres got to be a reoson why they are put on so many quads. There has to be some kind of an advantage right?

knowing jeff will come in here and make us all look stupid.... I will answer it to the best of my ability. I read that most quad have linkages because it helps the shock stiffen as it progresses through the travel stroke.

actually there are linkages out there that are better then a no link...

take a cr500 linkage or 450f linkage 250r for example... more travel then a no link, better overall ride then a no link, and its just flat out better... only reason u don't see as many 500 links as no links is because of the cost...

its hard to explain it all... but a no link really isn't that good on some quads such as the 250r... they are VERY hard to dial in the rear shock... now 300exs, raptors, etc all have no links and have no problems... but the cr500 linkages are def better on a 250r by far...

why is a 500link so expensive? stock 500link are expensive or the shock you have to buy?

I never saw this setup.. only heard of. are they available for 450s?

Thats exactly how i understand it also, But i have heard that a no-link setup is alot easier to dial in the suspension!
Im not 100 percent sure, But did Bill Ballance run a no link?? on his 250r?
