I have an older Remington 760 30-06. The problem im having is the bolt won't fully close causing the gun not to fire. Any ideas of what could be wrong with the internals?

it probably just needs a good cleaning, unless you have taken it apart and put it back together and it started doing this, then it would be something in there wrong. try taking it apart as far as you can and cleaning real good with gun solvent( the aerosol kind works real good), be sure to clean all the rails, catches, ejector and eveything, then oil it and put it back together and try it. most gun malfunctions are due to them being dirty.

i agree with the cleaning ....its more then likely the problem.

also, double check the ammo and if its handloads the neck maybe too long.

be safe

OR, if they are reloads the primer may not be fully seated. Had the same problem and it costed me a nice Buck. And if the ammo is new take a round, set it on a level surface, if it rocks it's the primer.
