Ok tell me why Eigerider400 was banned?Sure he was full of it and people didnt like what he said but he never broke any rules. You guys didnt like him but i thought he was funny without putting people down or anything like that. Since he didnt agree with you all and "be cool" he deserrves to be banned? I think not! There are some serious problems going on here. This is what little kids do at the playground-we dont like you cause you dont agree with me so you wont play with anyone and they banish the kid from the playground. Now why are full grown adults doing this? This is one reason i havent became a supporting member-i dont support what you guys do. All you 15 year olds think elka,Pappy rules forever. I dont get it. This is where we share ideas and viewpoints not a communist rule. Why are you all running this site into the ground? Leo never ever did this. simply put....

the majority of members dont want that kind of stuff clogging up the board. they complain we respond. he has been booted several times before, asked to be a contibuting member but he refuses. and dont worry, he is still on the site just that user name was banned.


as far as the rest of your opinion...its just that...opinion. i dont try to be anything i am not. people take me for who i am and i ask for nothing more. that pisses some folks off and i cant help that. i dont see myself as anything special so i cant figure out why anyone else would. and all i am concerned with is how i feel about me not other people.

if you dont like EXR then log off and dont visit here, its pretty simple

i dont do anything more then any other mod does. i just seem to get the brunt of peoples mis-informed view.

this site has grown and grown and will continue to grow. and has that happens the site membership will cycle thru good and bad members. you just deal with it as it arises....there is no master plan. we are on a course to do what we feel is right and other sites do the same...thats why there are other sites:p it doesnt mean anyone is better then the next or that the members are better or worse, just different ideals and opinions. I've always belonged to Rriders and don't really consider myself supporting that site since I only visit it maybe 2 times a month and responde maybe 1 time every 3 months.


I think Exriders is doing a fine job. I stepped down for other reasons but it was not because I don't like Exriders, it's members or it's mods..

well that should be proof enough that harlen isnt all about the money. he is so busy doing work on the site and for the site that he doesnt have the free time to collect money. he was at the gnc banquet all weekend doing coverage for the site. infact he had better seating then atv sport:p

realize...we have a vision of what we want the site to be. your free to enjoy it or not. its free, its not mandatory that you be here so why should you piss and moan when you dont see eye to eye with the site? i have magazines that i dont buy simply because i dont care to waste my time or money on and the internet is the same way. its called freedom of choice.

We mods actually are very leaniant. When we get reported posts, thats what gets our attention quick about a member.

I generally feel if the bulk of the members are happy with another member, i leave well enough alone.
Its when a member causes problems for everyone here, he or she has to go.

Has anyone heard from 2Rs..... I need help hooking up my new ride and I can;t find him on here. Did sombody get there feelings hurt? I think everyone needs to use this site for help and stop trying to see who you can get kicked off! Here I am needing help from sombody that knows what they are doing and ( I Think ) you guys kicked him off. He might not be perfect But he helps people!. When someone is banned, they can make a new screen name. If they keep being a problem, then they get a IP ban. Only the Admin can do a IP ban.

lil400exman you been around long enough to know whats really up with all this, and it seems from your first post you have eyes of your own to see whats happening.

Sure your not going to be popular for your different opinion but who says your opinion has to be popular. You spoke your mind about something and said it as you see it and there is nothing wrong with that is there, and if you get booted tomorrow for speaking your mind like many b4 you its ok cause you did the right thing.

Well thats all great but is it all true? There is more than one person in the sport that would argue much of this.

I am not listing my own opinion on all of it but this I know, Opinion is only that opinion, and without it being physically threatening or verbally obscene why not allow it "every time" and show to everyone that the mods here are able to control their domain thru words and not bannings or to prove their point(s) on the boards to that the members can see whats real or at least make their own opinion etc, When one is only concerned with ones self that is what is referred to as "selfish", Saying you feel one way and acting in a total different way is not being honest to yourself or others involved, and lastly if it isnt about the money (and it seems to also be about the sport too honestly) then why is there so much floating around, and could it be that many feel that way due to the comparisons of the originator of the site etc?

I dont have all the answers but atlest there are some questions etc.

Hope you can respect that this isnt a flame against you or anyone else, but just an observation :)

I mean like is everyone who is different a dirt bag or criminal to you?

And dont even start with the "rules" stuff cause everyone knows that they change as some find it convenient.

Wouldnt it be easier to work with the members and just deal with the serious problems, and not be concerned with which members like cops or authority figures?

Maybe too much of this stuff is taken personally, and there isnt any accountability for the mods actions and therefore things are done without just cause or solid thinking.

You got me wrong. I am probably one of the fairest people you will ever meet towards teenagers. I dont put down thier music, clothes styles, or whatever. If you met me, you would figuire that out fast. Ive gone out of my way many times to help young people and always will. Young people buck the system, always have always will. Thats cool with me

ben bought the site from leo. at that point ben called on me as well as others asking advice and so on.

ben sold the site to its current owners. i was told i had ZERO choice but to be a mod...no ifs ands or butts. i said id do my best but that i had my share of baggage and i was certain it would end witha few pissed off people. i was correct, it did , it happened and its over.

so ....where does that leave me. absolutley nowhere:p i am a mod with the same power as any other mod on exr. i help in anyway i can, anytime i can and thats about the extent of what i do.

i pc for fun. id like to take it to a larger scale but it will be done on a local level as i cant stand this internet stuff:p but for now its purely a distraction until i retire...2 years or less..whoohoo:p

You guys dont see all the reported posts, the deleting of countless threads, the cleaning up of reported posts, the several warnings we send to a member that is causing trouble, BEFORE they are booted,
We just dont boot someone because we dont like them, we mods generally take a vote to send them packing or give them another chance.

harlem is one of the best admin this site has seen. ive never seen anyone go out of their way as much as he does to get coverage and whatnot for the site. and most of the mods do an excellent job doing their job. back in the day there were a few (i wont mention names) who were baised and i just avoided they did the same. since then it has gotten much better.
in all the time i have been here u learn what goes, what doesnt, and everything in between. the site isnt absoutely perfect im sure there is one thing everyone would change about it. but in general it is by far the best atv website and forum i have ever been to. if you want biased mods and admin go to bluetraxx. this site is much better and alot more i guess u could say "grown up" which is good.
but if u feel the bannings are corrupt and happen for no reason, you have alot to learn bud. you think the government has never lied to you? you think a criminal has not gotten off free, and an innocent man has not gone to jail before? i highly doubt they were banned for no reason, but even if they were what can you do about it?

Why would someone have the nerve to complain about this site? It doesnt make any sense. Its free! I myself love this site. When I first joined I didnt know anything about quads at all. Now i can rebuild my engine and do all the work needed on my quad myself. Heck if it werent for this site I wouldnt even have a quad. I really appreciate all the work and time that the mods put into this site. If it werent here i'd go nuts. I plan on becoming a supporting memember asap and I also plan on being here for along time. I dont think people understand how lucky we are to have a great site like this. Like someone said before, If you dont like the site happy trails. Thanks for all the work you do Mods.

evr since i joined the site ive loved every minute of my time here
i am on this site all day long from when i enter work to when i leave.i am not here on weekends and i dont really want to be.
i am lucky to have a job like this and to get paid for something i enjoy
not for one minute will you find me complaining about administration or mods ever!
i look at it this way ...what is said here stays here just like vegas
i dont carry this over to my personal life.
i really dont have a prob with anyone on here.some may have a prob. with me ,i dont know
i am not perfect and i dont try to be.the mods here put up with my ramblings and chit all day so i have NO complaints.
what some ppl need to be able to do is not worry so much what others do just worry about what you do.
when i came here i was excited to see ppl talking about the same things i like to talk about which for the most part is riding and wheelers.i am greatful for that and plan on being here a while

none of us are perfect, but we ALL do our best and try to make the best decisions on banning. theres lots that you all dont see that gets deleted or maybe in a PM. We cant please everyone. I have no reason to have a "God status" here and just ban peeps for the heck of it .Some of you might not like when we delete or ban a member... But thats why Harlen puts us in charge,he trusts our decisions . If you are unhappy with the way things run around here Im sorry. thats the way it is , and its going to stay. Happy trails.....

I think Harlen has done an amazing Job when he was brought on to Exriders and has taken it to a whole new level.

The only problem I see with the site is that the Open forum is one big chat room now and that's were about 70% of the sites activity is on a daily basis. The race coverages when they are up to date from a previous race that has ran is super busy, but in general I'd think 70% of the sites activity is in the open forum. There are no confrentation in any of the other forums on the site it's only in the Open forum if you sit back and think about it.

What the fix is I have no idea but the Mods here are top notch and I think something will be figured out to stop all this moaning and groaning.

Maybe get rid of the open forum to fix the problem or make it quad related only like Leo did in the begining...:confused:

i agree with the open forum being ...well..open:p but when you have this many members on a daily basis they will want to discuss things other then quads. if someone doesnt want to read the open forum they dont have to. and your correct, we have worked hard to keep the BS out of the other sections so tech info can be exchanged.

I think you guys are doing a great job .... I know there is a lot of BS that you guys have to go through daily to make this site the best there is on the internet . If it wasn't for all the hard work you guys and girls put into this site , it wouldn't have been nominated for an award .

I know most of my postings ( 99%) are mostly made in the open forum , simply because I don't have the mechanical knowledge of a 400ex or a 450r to be posting in the other sections .

I've been on this site for over 2 years now , and I'm please at how much it has grown . 2 years ago , it was mainly all 400ex information .... now you can find almost all the info of every make and model out there .... you can get practically up to date information on the races , as well as come and have a place to have a few laughs ( and friendly arguements) with others .

Keep up the good work .... you guys are doing a great job !!!

I think it's great how the site has grown and how it is more than just an ATV site. I'm not sure I would hang out here daily if it was stictly quads. I like the open forum for non atv topics. It may help to add a few moe forum categories. I even think it would even be good to have a forum dedicated to trucks and trailers since we all use them to haul our toys. Keep up the good work:cool:

All this thread was to is to take a look around you. I never meant for it to be a flaming war and dont think you guys are bad. I know everyone is imperfect and there is always the "right" choice.....(i mean if everyone knew the right thing paul rowlands wouldnt be a quadrapeligic)

Sure sometimes we may not like critisicm (easter egg comes to mind:o ) and little things like that or saying their wife was ugly (4punksdad) should be overlooked. Although tough i know you can see past it as we have all havent said the niceest things (you know everyone has.)

Reason i said Leo never meant for it like this is cause this site seems much more commercial now. Leo just wanted it to be a nice site where it was business. I remember back in the day with the black background and red letters............whew my eyes still shutter at that:scary:

People and Beerock and Curt could be banned. They knew it was coming with their actions. I understand that as sometimes those flame wars would get nasty. Sometimes i feel that actions are a bit harsh although overall you do a good job.

The whole reason for this thread and post was to look at where the site is and will be going. I miss lenny's novel posts and seeing kenny and dave have a good weekend wrenching on the quads.

Albeit that wont be around anymore we have lost the close bond. If your not a slapnutzz or a person like pappy your just another brick in the wall. Back when we hit 2,000 members we were flying high but still close. This site has lost that where people know your name and you can have good conversations with hijacking threads with questions like whats the best pipe for my 400ex or how do i get my swingarm pivot-bolt out?:rolleyes:

well let me put a few things into perspective:

1) Leo sold the site for a cash benefit.

2) Ben sold the site for a cash benefit

3) The site has grown and will fullfill a cash benefit

ok, so everyone made money so you cant say it was just for fun.


now as far as the personal side of why certain members were given the boot. youre correct, different time, different attitudes but the fact remains it was done and the persons banned damn well knew it would happen so who to blame? it just wasnt going to work and was only a matter of time. geuss what, its not a "anyone can be here site". if we dont like you or agree with your business dealings or attitude your history. so deal with it.(i geuss sga can get away with saying it, i wonder who will get thier pecker straight seeing me post that?)

as far as being popular or someone special? in my eye's there are those that do and those that dont. not one person is above the rest but i do respect those that offer up information and knowledge to those that need it. if you see it a different way then thats your perspective and not the way the people running this site see things. again, like it or not it is the way it is and all the moaning and crying will do nothing but strengthen our resolve.

this site is way bigger then me, yet thanks to the non stop banter and rhetoric of a few my name is all over, on every webpage and geuss what. people come to EXR now and realize i am not the anti christ and they stick around:eek:
