which 400 should i get?

1: Suzuki Z-400
2: Honda 400ex
3:Kawasaki KFX 400

Which one is faster?
Also. Is the frame on the Z-400 weak??

What kinda riding are u gona do, Cuz i have to say, The KFX, and the Z are both the same machines!! Diffrent colors, But the 400ex is a very dependable machine, and parts are a dime a dozen! Its slower stock/for stock, but with a few hundered dollars it would smoke a piped, jetted Z!!!!!

IF ur wanting to just trail ride, and u think that u need reverse the Z is a great machine, But the 400ex aint bad either!

Arctic Cat makes a quad, and its also the same as the Suzuki, and Kawi, But they run diffrent plastics!!!!

Stay away from the sucker 05 400ex. For the money a Z way better. Better handling, better power and for a few hundred dollars it will spank a 400ex with a few hundred dollars in it.

i was in the same spot u were jus comin up from a 250ex and i sold it and bought a used 400ex completely stock the guy only put 10 hours on it and put all the stuff in my sig on it

regular 04 400ex price: 5300 (i got mine on a clearance sale for 5K even though)

sure the 400ex may be slower stock for stock, but put 400$ worth of mods in and youll get a faster quad for the same price

The 05's are the same price and if you put $400 in to both of them the Z will be faster.

i know that, but if you buy a new 04 400ex thats 5K or maybe less, you can pimp it out for 700$ and itll be faster then an 05 z400 at the same price

I'd give the 400EX the edge in handling. As far as power, I can run with Z's/KFX's with equal mods to my EX. If you're going to try to maximize horsepower then the Z may have a bit more potential, but if you're going to do that then you may as well get one of the 450's, it would be cheaper.

This is not comparing the 05's, but I haven't heard of any real world comparisons between them or put mine up against one, so I can't say how they would compare. I can't imagine the few engine mod's they did on the Z would make a big difference.. the better front shocks would be nice. But the frame is a bit of a concern if you jump big and don't gusset it..

the new 400exs are the same as Zs and you say u can pick up an 04 400ex for 700 bucks cheaper yes but u can get the Z 700 bucks cheaper now to because the 05 is out If i was you and your getting a brand new one go with the 2005 Z400 same price as the 400ex but has different cams.carb and also front shocks with rezis the stock Z burns a stock 400ex so I can only imagine the new 05 Z400 will toast it even more because honda hasnt done anythinng motor or suspension wise

When i had to make the decision i went and sat on all the machines and i didn't really like the way the Z felt when i sat on it which is why i bought the 400EX plus its got enough juice to do what i want.

i'd either go with the z or the 05 400ex. the ex is much better now that it has reverse. ridin both but i prefer the 400ex. my friend has a z and he loves it too. soo the choicewould be yours. both are really good machines.:)

yeah the 05' 400ex is awsome, get that. You will not regret it.

I'd say go with the 400ex. They seem pretty much bulletproof, especially when compared to the Z. not saying the z's are bad or anything, but the 400ex just has the reputation of being more durable for a reason.

Get the Z/KFX, cheaper than the '05 400ex and they are faster and have better suspension. You would think since Honda bumped the price up to above the other 400's they would at least add rezzies on the shocks

I've ridden a Z400 and it's faster than my piped 400ex, it feels tall at first but that quickly goes away when you're flying through the woods:D .

personally, i like the 05 Z/KFX/DVX better than the 400ex. If i were you i'd look at the arctic cat- i think they actually look better than the z/kfx
