i just installed my MSR clutch perch and lever, the shorty version with the little pad. i noticed the pull is quite harder than stock. does anyone have these and have any problems? maybe its just because the lever is shorter and dosent have as much leverage? i dont know, but i really love the feel and craftsmanship with these. also, does this set up decrease the longevity of the clutch cable? thanks.

I have no idea but there is no way it will shorten the cable life.

It will be harder to pull because it's shorter (less leverage).
Won't have any effect on cable life.

ok thanks guys, i figured out this perch has 3 inserts for the cable stop and i have it in position A, the hardest one. now i dont feel like pulling it apart again so i'm gonna see how it treats my fingers, lol.

You should take it off and try it in the middle position. You have it set on the hardest, and the shorter lever doesen't help.

have you seen this perch speedfreak? i was wondering if you have tried all 3 positions? i would think position C (the easiest) would be the best to go. position C claims to reduce pull 325% over stock...

what do you mean by the farthest one? farthest to the inside of the lever or furthest to the front of it?

Sell that piece, it's just going to strip out at the threads, and ruin your perch and psosibly a good day at the track.. go with an ASV!

nah dude your nuts, i love this perch and lever. It wont strip unless your constantly playing around with it. just adjust when you need to or adjust down the bottom of the cable.
