I have narrowed down my shock choices to either Axis or Pep. I will using them for mx racing on my YFZ 450. Alot of pro GNC guys use Pep, but i have never seen any GNCC guys using PEP. What is the reason?

Jathan Seale runs PEP/JB. He won the 12 Hours of America, or something like that.

theres 2 reasons that i can think of...

#1 it takes FOREVER literally to get the shocks from PEP...

#2 also theres noone at a gncc race to help service the shocks or work on them... elka is at most races so they support alot of the gncc riders so they all run elka...

I will third that comment about Wayne or Mark not being there. But it literally takes less then a week for Pros to get PEP shocks. But for you or I it takes 4-5 weeks via Mark....Which is alot longer then Elka or Axis blah blah blah.

It may if you get them from Wayne, cause he builds all the Pros' shocks.

I run PEP and have no complants about them. I had a rear shock blow out this year, sent it to baldwin and had it back in a 7 days.

I don't think there is anything wrong PEP at. they just seem to consitrate their efforts on the MX side where as the other companys are a little bigger and are able to put efforts into MX and XC

2004 GNCC top 10 riders

1.Ballance- Axis
2.Borich-Axis
3.Yokley-Elka
4.Duvall-Elka
5.Smiley-Axis
6.Trew-Axis
8.Derisi-Axis
9.knippenburg-Elka
10.Ballance-Axis

thats what the top guys rode in 04. Axis has the highest market share at the GNCC's as a whole as well....the reason for that is the amount of time they have put into R&D, and having people at the track to work with ALL of the riders who use their stuff. I know Elka has caught on to this in the last year or so, and is starting to follow their lead.........It s a good thing for the consumer, because the both companies shocks are constantly improving.
