400ex and 22" snow tires Clearance

I have the AC propeg (big pegs) nerf bars on my 400 and am getting 22" snow tires for the winter/sand. I'm worried about clearance issues.

they say the expand up to 40%. I'm worried It will not clear my nerf bars. I think it should make it w/o the expasion but 40%.

anyone else have any expirence?

what kind of tires?

if they expand that much, you could get 20's. they would still expand to like 24"

the tires are maxis 4-Snow.

they only come in 22"

guys use them around here in the sand to drag. I think there alot better on your rear berring carrier than paddles.

I'm just curious if I have to take off my nerf bars. That would suck, I love those things.

you could always jsut take your nerfs off and put your stock pegs back onfor winter riding dont think youd really need them i would take them off and put soem 22s if i was yuo want or jsut put 20s and dont screw with it

i would not take off your nerfs. the winter is when your pegs get most slippery and ive slipped off my propegs many times and if i didnt have the nerfs i wouldve been sucked into the tire. id get different tires before riding without nerfs just my opinion. i think theres been some posts on 22 inch tires and nerfs but im not exactly sure.. good luck though!

The 22's will fit. Most of my friends with 400's upgrade to 22's because of th eground clearanmce
