View Full Version : Stripped sprocket hub.

I know alot of aftermarket axles have a problem with the sprocket hub wearing and having a bit of play back and forth in it, but has anyone stripped one to the point where the bike wouldn't move?

i havent heard of anyone but im sure it has happened. i geuss if you catch it early you can make the simple mod rico did and it will last for quite a bit longer

I have that and the left wheel hub welded, the right one is about to go to, time for a new axle...

He added another clip on the hub if I read it correctly.
I don't know if that will work with an RPM axle though.

I've got the axle pulled out right now. I'll get a pic of it and post it out here when it gets light out...:cool:

Here's a simple cheap fix but dont make it a permanent one. I added another retainer clip inside of the one that came with the axle. It's loosy goosy again and I don't see the hub lasting much longer. Replacing the hub is the best fix...

we had an old yami utility quad, and the rear left hub completely wore out to where it was like a bearing and just spun freely. the only cool part was that it was very easy to do donuts, since only one wheel would be in power...lol....$100 fixed it with a new hub from yami cheap yami stuff eh?? thats why i own a honda now
