ive heard good things. but you have to remember air density changes when the temperature does, causing the shocks to be stiffer/softer. i dont know how easy they are to ajust the pressure, sounds pretty easy, but its one of the only downfalls ive heard of.

yea, they come with a portable pump, so if your riding conditions or temp changes, you set to your likings, they sound nice, i havent ridin on a set yet though

look in the december issue of dirt wheels. theres an article with a DVX400 and they put them on there. they were leaking after the 1st day.

The snowmobile guys love em, I'm sure they work good. There will be some bugs because they are new.

What do these things cost for a set?

I was thinking I saw a set in the $800 range. I thought it was a cool idea, but felt that they may not be the hottest setup in the woods due to sticks and stuff. When I saw them in DW I was excited and had to read. They actually have a guard, much like a dirt bike on its front forks, to help protect them. However, when I saw that they were leaking after the first day, I really wasn't suprised. If they are already leaking oil, don't you think they have probably lost air too? A small loss of air probably makes a big difference in ride. Imagine, you are in a GNCC, you're in front when you realize: "Dang, my shocks are flat!" :eek2: :eek2: I'm sure Fox was not to happy with the results. :scary:

I think flyin#5 nailed it on the head...... How do you compensate for air density changes once the shocks heat up? This is why dirtbike forks have schrader valves, or air release screws to remove built up air pressure. How would you elminate the additional air pressure that built up? And over a 2 hour race you can be sure there will a build up of pressure.....

I personally think that its all a bunch of hype, and they'll go away in a couple years.....

I have'nt riden a set yet, but they are good shocks. They sell bigger versions that are very popular in rock crawling right now. I don't think they use normal air. The rock crawling version uses oil and nitro. I never read the article about the dvx either, but they might not of been leaking. For the first few days of riding you have to keep charging them up because the nitro mixes with the oil. Oh ya, they are $225.00 ea.

I wasn't talking about the float shocks. I was talking about the other version like I said that uses nitro and travel ranges from 4" to 18". So it looks like your wrong, maybe think before you type.....

last i checked this was a quad site, not a 4x4 forum. Looks like you're wrong. again.
You were also wrong about the atv shocks being filled with a nitogenous gas. You were also wrong about the shocks not leaking. Maybe you should have taken time to read the article and realize that the shocks were leaking oil because of a supposed blown seal. you were wrong about the shocks being 225 a pair. They are 895 a pair.
maybe think before you type.... about automotive shocks on an atv forum.

The rock crawling version uses oil and nitro. I am right!
I never read the article about the dvx, but they might not of been leaking. Never said they weren't leaking, only said what the problem is with the other ones since they are both basicaly air shocks it might have been it. But since I never read the article I didn't know!

Sorry for pissing in your cereal
