Big guns are not as good as a Yosh. If your doing hill climbs I wouldn't get a full system. You'll have better grunt with a slip-on and your stock head pipe.

The stock headpipe would be better because it gives more low end power than a bigger diameter pipe.

I would think a Big Gun would be an excellent choice for hill climbing because of the low end power it gives. I have a Big Gun slip-on and before when I had a 14t on it would pull like a 440.

anybody wanna say that there are "the best" pipes for different types of riding. x-6, and white for top end. t-4 and yoshi for mid. big gun for low end.

that's just how i see it. any pipe can be a shinning star in the type of riding it was ment for.

Well, at least I know of two other people on this site that support Big Gun...

What is everyone's problem with Big Gun? I can promise you it makes a lot more bottom end than an X-6 pipe or a Yoshi pipe. And the last time I checked, you don't want a top end pipe for hill climbs?

Go with Big Gun and a smaller front sprocket!

And whoever said R4, what are you thinking?? I'd take a Cobra pipe over one of those anyday! Pieces of crap and they fall apart!

NO!

Why does everyone think the Big Gun is horrible??? If you want something that sucks, get a DG or Cobra pipe!

I used to have a big gun full system and I loved it! Couldnt say anything bad about it ever..The system that I had was super loud, but sounded great..It definately gives a tremendous amount of low end power..I switched to HMF just because I wanted to try something else, but the Big Gun was great..Dont let anyone tell you different!!

I love my Big Gun Race slip on it is loud, I get compliments on it all the time on how it sounds. And the low end power is great. I wouldn't trade it for any other pipe.

The Big Gun has an awesome deep throaty sound to it. I'd definately get it if you're looking for good low end gains.

will there be any top end increases, or will it be like stock on the top end?

I want to also add that I will be running it with the airbox lid removed, a K&N air filter, and of-course the proper jetting.

Thanks

There will be little top end gain, the pipe focuses highly on low end and mid power. I run mine without an airbox lid and it helps greatly with throttle response. You will definately notice when you have the jetting dead on - you won't be able to keep the wheels down.

I would go with a Big Gun Race series

I have one on my 2005 400ex and it pull very hard compared to the stock
a lot better than the yosh.
It have one of the best sound i've ever heard,
very loud:D

Get a Big Gun and you wont regret it

For low end power Sparks wouldn't work, at least the X-6...I have never tried the X-4 though, but I doubt it's as good as a Big Gun for low end power.

Ive had three Yoshis and LUV it on my Honda!!!... I think that would be a great choice from the two........ ;)

my buddy switched from a big gun slip on to a x-4 and he gained about 3 bike lengths in a drag race from 1st to the middle of 5th gear, which is quite substantial. this was on a mild 406.

my friend has a big gun race full and he sapnks me like a redheaded stepchild off the line and through midrange...but on top end he cant walk away from me...besides his jetting that is the only difference in our 400s

I swear by my e-series, i have a 416, hotcams stage 2, stock header, i run it with no discs and it screams up hillclimbs, it will bounce off rev limiter all day.:macho

i wouldn't put money on that :macho

also, i really wouldn't consider his bike built. he had a rated 10:1 wiseco piston. which the compression was probably closer to stock than 10:1. it was 1mm larger than stock, which isn't much either. he was running a stage 1 cam. going from a slip on to a full system and gaining 3 bike lengths is quite a bit. he had he welds in his stock header grinded off too. losing by 3 bike lengths in a drag is getting beat pretty bad.
