You may want to run an oil cooler. Thats pushing the limits of that motor! Kinda overkill for woods.

think hes asking hows the power with the 350x engine, i just found a donor bike and bought some powroll mounts so i should be doing it soon.... but from people ive talked to the power is AWESOME i think the 350x engine has around the same power stock as the 400ex.... anyone know this for sure?

Oh! LOL! I don't have a 350X but in 95 I put a new 350X motor in a 250R chassis. The 350X does have quite a bit more power than the 250X.

just wondering becaus im having my 250x bored out to a 350 they say it can smoke a 400 in the woods really about anything even a 250r

why would you change engines out of a 250 for a 350

PROS, how much HP does a 250X have stock? 12-15? a 350X has maybe 28-32 i think
it has a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed, cost less than building the 250x up to the same performance level, plus it is STOCK so that means i could build it up to a 425 or whatever if i needed, it is also stock so the relibility will be better, than a EXTREMLY OVERBORED engine.... plus i needed a new motor also already has a oil cooler, and has dual exhaust ports
CONS no reverse, probaly a little heavier, they are harder to start,

my 250r handling is unbelievable and my 350x is extremely torqey its gonna be a bad woods bike

I've thought about doing one of those 250R chassis 350X motor combo things but, I heard that you need to rework one of the upper frame rails for an oil line to clear. I once found a site for a shop that could do all the welding and frame mods you need to fit just about any motor into the 250R frame but I can't find the site anymore, is there any place doing this type of work?

on a 250x you just need to notch the frame a little bit for the oil line (with a die grinder)

You also need to trim some of the rear upper motor mount off the motor going in a 250X chassis.
