2004 Ironman Morning coverage

The rain was really coming down for the start of the morning race. The weather the day before was great but it had changed overnight.

Womens Super Senior start. Angel Atwell grabbed the holeshot again and Traci Cecco was right on her heels.

[WOOLIN]

The field section would get much worse as the race goes on.

[WOOLIN]

Traci would take over the lead after the first turn and build almost a 4 min lead on the rest of the women. But she rand out of gas and finished in 3rd.

Erika Jones plowed her way through the slop for a 4th place finish.

[WOOLIN]

Everyrider used alot of goggles and gloves. Here is Jean Lovely making her pit stop. She would finish in 7th place just behind Stephanie Verkade.

Stephanie Parton took advantage of Traci's bad luck to finish in 2nd place. She is getting closer to having her new Honda dialed in.

But it was Angel's day. She took the win and got on the podium. Congratulations!

Johnny C Senior ran away with another victory! That makes 12 wins for the season. That is incredible!

[WOOLIN]

I think this is Ken Vickerd. Ken finished in 6th place just behind Thomas Waybright in 5th, David Coffing in 4th, Tim Cunningham in 3rd, and Ed Malott finished 2nd.

The Championship has come down to 1 race. Everyone was ready to try and finish off the season with a win!

Harlen graps the hole shot. His ITP tires are really hooking up in this slop.

[WOOLIN]

The first turn was really getting slick and everyone wanted to be first into the woods.

[WOOLIN]

Harlen had moved up to 4th place by the second lap but mechanical problems dropped him back to 24th and took away his chance at the championship.

Dan Kiehl had a great race finishing in second place overall. He beat out Chris Neal 3rd and Tyler Lenig 4th to earn a spot on the poduim.

Billy Good Took the overall victory and won the 4 Stroke Stock title as well.

[WOOLIN]

Mike Penland took the hole shot. With the muddy conditions the utilities were going to have alot of fun.

Mike Chirdon was looking to have a good race on his Polaris machine.

[WOOLIN]

Michael Swift would moved his way up from 4th place to take the win by 2 and a half minutes over Penland in 2nd.

#681 William Levinson rounded out the top 3 in Utility Stock.

[WOOLIN]

The 4x4's weren't having much trouble with all the slop.

[WOOLIN]

Scott Kilby nails the hole shot an ran away with the victory.

[WOOLIN]

Everybody was fighting for position in the first turn. If you got over in the loose stuff it really slowed you down.

Jason White would finish in second followed by Chad Lowe in third.

[WOOLIN]

The V-Forces have taken over this class in the last couple of years.

Doug Henke grabs the hole shot looking for another win.

The rest of the field thundered around the first turn. You have to love the sound of those V-Twins.

Phil Deschamps came all the way down from Canada to compete on his Artic Cat. He finished in second place in the 33+ class behind Darrell E Bozarth who took the win.
