my z400 fits in my ranger with the tail gate up. even a quad with wide a arms and extended axle will fit. i just need to lift the front wheels over the wheel wells

I am hearing you!
Mine fits in my 4x4 Ranger just fine after I lift it over the wheels wells. Got even worse when I put the +2's on it. Still fits though!

Oh yeah I run a +1 1/4 houser swinger and I can still shut the tailgate and put my boots and fuel can back there.

I know you are talking about mid-size trucks. But my cousins 400ex with +3's on it fits in his F-150 with 3 or 4 inches to spare on each side before the wheel wells. I thought that was kind of weird.

my trailslug fits in my dakota ( 6' bed) with the tailgate closed. the trailboss is actually wider than a stock 400, so you should be fine.

If you have a wider quad, it will not fit in a flareside ranger.

naah you put one in backwards and stand it up. the ride the other one up on the ramps and pop the clutch so the front end stands up push it up aginst the other so the tires are touching. be sure to turn the gas off on both. i took straps from the right a arm on the back quad and ran it to the left side of the front of the bed and visa virsa with the other a arm and other wheeler. i drove from greensboro NC to brown mtn with it like that and didnt have any problems at all. i got the idea from tommy i believe. i think it was him that posted a pic a while back. if you do it be sure to attach the tie downs as high up as you can on the bike.
