i was wonderin if i should get some winter tires for my quad. up here in alaska we probly got 4-5 inches of snow in some areas. and my regular tires dont seem to want to grip unless i have it in high 3rd goin about 25-30 on a trail. i heard about front skis as well but those are kinda expensive. so what should i do?

ok im sorry, i dont mean to sound mean but pattle tires are bad in snow, the pattles will rip off. the the maxxis 4-snow or pro wedges, or zipper, those are the best tires for snow.

What were you smokin? The paddles will RIP OFF?! Honestly have you ever ridden in the snow with them? Sand is alot heavier than snow so I dont see how they would "Rip off" . . .Just my .02 cents. . .I do agree you'd be better off with the 4-snow tire tho :D

MudMachines are great for snow. I run them on my 300 in the winter and I have no problems getting around even through drifts.

ok i might have over exaderated when i said "they will rip off" were i live to get up a mountain you are aloud to drive the quad on the road and if you have paddle tires the paddles are too big. see when you look at the paddles on the pro wedges they are crossing, and when you look at the padles on the sand tires they are straight and cupped. When you are driving in snow the cupped tires will just dig holes in the SOFT snow. it wont do that in the sand cuz like you said its harder. The crossing and the hight of the paddles do make a different in snow and sand.

I just bought a set of the AMS zippers. They look to be really nice, i am going to use them for ice racing, but will use in the snow as well.
