I am going to rering my engine it is starting to smoke, should I go ahead and buy an .020 o.s. piston. that would make it a 416 right
or should I try to leave it STD. and if I buy a stage 1 hot cam should I change the valve springs? where is a good place to buy springs?:)

.040 over is a 416. If you get a stage 1 hotcam you don't need new valve springs. That's what I'm doing with mine this winter. It's a good choice.

ok i'm a little confused, so if I wanted a 416 I would have to cut how much out of my cylinder and buy a .040 over piston?

what would the measurement be if I wanted to install a .020 over piston 85.50 mm? And what then would be my displacment be?

does anyone know where i can read some literature about this, I will more than likely be doing all this work myself. Thanks!

there is a ton of threads on here about 416,426, or 440 bores.just keep scrolling through this powertrain thread or give
C&D a call at the # posted at the top of the screen. i have talked to several people about the valve springs and they say "dont" change the valve springs with the hot cam, it will make your quad run hotter-just my .02 cents.
