id take a 250r cuz i think they r funner. 400ex for reliablity

id take the 400 for that kind of riding. suited more for that kinda stuff and killer reliability.

you could get a trick 250r cheap that would be good on the track, but if you ride more for the fun of it....hillclimbing,trails, etc.,,,definately the 400....broader powerband makes it easier to ride and as long as you dont start boring it out, you will have awesome reliability

I got rid of my 250R for a 400ex and regret it. The 250R has a lot more HP and can be set up for anything. Reliability is fine too. It's cheap to put a piston in them.
