English pro ATV racer Paul Rowlands was seriously injured at a beach race over the weekend. Here is a note from his friend, Phil Cole:
Paul raced several rounds of the 2003 and 2004 GNCC ATV Series in the Pro ATV class- he is the only European rider ever to compete in the GNCC ATV series. Each race was a huge trip for him from his home in England. He was fortunate to have had Brad Page and Andy Lagzdins transport his bike around to the races for him. He teamed up with Andy for the 12 hour Pont de Vaux race in France this year- a story you posted on the GNCC website where they finished in 6th place. Paul is the current British Enduro Champion. At the Weston Beach Race this past weekend Paul was involved in a high speed crash in the first corner. This crash has unfortunately left Paul permanently paralyzed from the waist down, and will be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I was hoping that you can post a report on the GNCC website to send your prayers, support and condolences to such a great rider and fan of the GNCC race series.
If you would like to send Paul a card or letter to help boost his spirits, send them to his race team at the following address:
