Help with buying new Computer...

I need a new tower soon. The ol 1995 Pentium is shot and slow as a goat. Traci and I only have dialup available so I have two questions..

1. Who has the best deal on a new tower with internet but I would also like to have Word & Excel?

2. Who has the fastest dial-up service? Right now we are using Speedtrain which is OK and may be much better with a new Tower - who knows.

So I take it that you are looking for a good deal. You can always go with a custom computer and design it to your needs to keep your budget down.... Also, the tower doesnt affect the speed of your dial up

I already have a good monitor & keyboard. I just need a basic computer that has enough power to run my dial-up connect full tilt and give me decnt speeds Word & Excel..

I am afarid I'll order too much computer for what I need.

You acn buy a used Dell on EBAY for around 400.00 that will do anything you need! Go with at least 8200 series- comes up to 2.6 gigahertz speed, 8250 or 8300 are better with up to 3.6 gig. and hyperthreading technology.
