I recently put a 12-1 comp piston in my 91 250x and i went to kick it over and there was a snap in the bottom end of the case. I haven't taken it apart to see exactly what it is yet. Is there a spring or something like that that brings the kicker back up after it is down? If so has anyone else had problems with it breaking with a higher compression?

I rebuilt a Suzuki LT250R a while ago there is a spring where the kickstart goes inside the case. If your kickstart doesn't come back up I'd say that spring probably broke.

i just installed a 12:1 comp piston on my 250x also.... was it alot harder to kick over with the 12:1 than it was with a lower compression piston?

of course it will be harder to kick because there is higher compression

I've got 12:1 in my 250x. With the decompression hooked up, I didn't think it was that much harder to kick. I haven't had any problems with the kicker either....

With the decompression plug hooked up it isn't that much harder to kick over just so it doesn't stop on the compression stroke. I was standing on my kicker and it wouldn't move then i heard a snap and the kick start went down down but it broke something. Then it just wouldn't come back up but the engine isnt' seized and the kicker can still go down some and it still turns the engine. My friend told me there was just a spring that pulled the kicker back up but i just wanted to make sure before i tore it apart.
