bad tickin in my 400ex?

thay is a bad tick win i get to the uper RPM's of my 400ex. its got a HotCam's stg 1 so would that be it? it did not do this be for i put it in. are could it do that if the timein was off a lil?

i dunno, but it could be a couple diffrent things. im sure someone on here will be better to give you a better idea

When was the last time you had your valves adjusted?

this would be better in the powertrain forum, but since its already here..... make sure you adjusted the valves correctly,.005 on intake, .006 on exhaust. make sure the cam chain tensioner is good. and on top of that the hot cams are a lot more noisy compared to stock.

its common with ex's. You need to adjust the vavles, simple as that

i adjust the vavles win i put the cam in i put them at 006. and 008.

Hows the power up top? Make sure your decompressor isn't stuck.

hotcams dont have the decompressor on them. i think he just needs to re-adjust the valves and he'll be good to go.

ok im goin to take it all back down to see all of it. so i need to adjust the valves to .005 and .006?:)

I think the stock valve adjustment is .004 and .005. I think that is what it is. So if you have them that loose, thats why it sounds like ****.

MAKE SURE YOUR TENSIONER IS GOOD, IF YOU STICK A POCKET SCREWDRIVER IN THE SLOT A TWIST IT AND PULL IT BACK OUT YOU SHOULD HEAR IT SNAP BACK IN.
