I have a 2005 yfz 450 with dubach slip on and pro foam filter. I have been trying to jet it for a while according to dubach they say 172 jet with clip in 6th position. I did this and when I reved the bike to the rev limiter in began to cut in and out and pop. I then took it to a 170 jet and it did the same thing. Then I bought the gytr jet kit and did what it said and worked my way down the jets and the jet that worked the best was a 162 with new needle in 4th position and a 145 pilot. Anyone heard of this jetting problem for this pipe. Let me know your guys advice and if I should keep it at 162.

I have this pipe, I am at 2400ft and I run 45 pilot,2 1/4 turns out on the air screw, NCVQ needle in the 4th position and a 168 main. IT flat out moves. I also have the cam mod done. and a k&N. With thethe stock needle I had a 175 main and the needle in the 5th position and all the rest the same.

I am in southern california. No altitude. I am running stock except with air filter and pipe no airbox lid. Do you think I am running to lean and if so what should I do about it cutting out when it hits the rev limiter with bigger jets.

If you are running the stock needle, I would try a 45 or maybe a 48 pilot, 175 main and change your needle to the 5th position if its still the stock needle.

I am running the ncvq needle with clip in the 4th, 45 pilot, 3 turns of the air screw, and a 162 jet, it seems to be running good. What does the air screw actually do?

If you are at sea level you should be 170- 172 with the ncvq needle.
