View Full Version : pep steering damper..How to install??

Ok I just bought this pep steering damper from someone here on this site, but I cant figure out how it bolts up..I know the 1 end bolts to the stem, but how high on the stem and which way does the bracket face and I dont know where the other end bolts to???..If anyone knows please let me know..Thanks

Usually left motor mount.

Well it doesnt seem like it would go there, but maybe..I really dont know jack about this stuff..Anyone know the pep website address?? maybe they would have install instructions?? Anyone else have any ideas??

The easiest way to do it is to put it up on the grab bar so you can turn the wheels from one side to the other. that way you can make sure it is clearing the oil line and oil cooler. keep an eye on that because if it moves it will take out one of them. ;)

Ok cool..Now I get how it all goes..I really appreciate the pics guys..you have been alot of help..Now on the set screw that is on the stem clamp, mine is alot shorter than yours..Does it have to be as long as yours in order to work good?? Also with the 3 setting that it has which is the softest and hardest?? Thanks again for all the help

that may not be the original bolt in mine ;) a shorter bolt should work just fine. if you look at the pictures you can see that I have mine set on the last hole away from the stem, that is it firmest setting.

Ok cool..Mine is on the last setting too, so I will try that out and see how it works..I really appreciate all your help..Also what is that sticker all about on your quad?? Theft protection??
