Cutting hand holds in side plastic

I was wondering if anybody ever cut hand holds in the side of the plastic like freestyler dirtbikers. I was thinking of doing this becuase I want to learn superman seat grabs and that kinda stuff. And body have pic. I was trying to find a good place to do this on my 400ex.:devil

well if I cut into the side I will do it on the lefts. I now that think about it may be I will learn double grabs.
I've never heard of any body cuting there plastic in the side but people do tricks that you need to grab the seat. Where would you grab beside cutting the plastic:devil

Theres no sense in doing that man, its just going to look really stupid. And if your doing a superman on a quad and you let go of the bars to grab the fenders....well you can kiss you @$$ goodbye.

it doesnt look stupid and its VERY possible to do ;) my advice to you is to cut the hole right below the frame, so you actually grab the frame. i'd never trust my plastic for fear of it coming off. good luck to ya :macho

I cut a hand hold in my plastic (left side as you described). I really haven't used it much though. It's too hard to get a quick hold off in a panic situation.

it doesnt seem right on a quad... it'd be a pain in the ***** to get hold of, but hey.. if you guys can use it and do them tricks it'd put a big grin on my face! :D

why don't u just build hand grab bars outta metal like most of the pros do...

i was thinkin about doin this too. like cinq said cut it so your grabbin your frame. thats how i would do it. and yes seatgrabs are very possible on quads.

damn..you guys are learning supermans and i'm still working on no foot can cans...i guess i need new shock and to lose this gut before i try that stuff.

superman seat grabs are very possible. I can superman seat grabs on a BMX bike. And doing tricks on BMX bike is alot harder than a quad. And I can do super man on my quad.
What do u mean make a grag bar. Where would you put it on the side.:devil

P.S. Doing no-footed cancans, you have to turn your hipps. after you learn that it will feel alot moe natral.

why dont you just slide a few inches farther back and hold on to the rear wheelie (grab) bar

you know how rear R plastic has those two vents in the back. you can just cut it like that and hold there. i dunno if it will be strong enough to hold you though:devil

you'll have to have arms as long as a gorillas to reach that far back and still keep your other hand on the handle bars. i could see grabbin the grab bar for a mullisha air tho.

I dont think you will ever make it back on the quads(if the people in Huevos4 cant do it I dough you can but if you gotta figure it out the hard way you could get a PRM exted grabbar and grab that or cut holes in ur side pannels and grab them

just cuz the huevos crew can't do em doesn't mean its impossible. i bet if we went back to 1996 and told people on dirtbike that one day people would be doin kiss of deaths or backflips they would call us crazy. ATV freestyle is still in its infancy, theres a lot more you can do.
