if you have ATV SPORT mag. september issuse, look on page 76, darin ogden's 450r has no upper motor mounts, are they rilly they serious about saving weight or what? i wouldnt think that would be the smart think to do, even though the motor isnt going to fall out...

thats like with 250r's most people dont run upper motor mounts to save weight and it supposidly lets the motor rev free'er not sure how but thats what i read

I dont run any either for XC if ya call Mark baldwin he will tell ya not to as well. There is to much flex in the frame and with the top mount in it cant flex!

not to bash anybody but if a motor mount is going to make you win cause of weigh saving just go on a diet you can lose alot more then 0.5 pound.:ermm:

Is this a common thing for xc racing? I haven't ever paid attention to the frames at the GNCC's. I wonder if this will help out with frame cracking issues.

Its not removed for weight!
Its removed so your frame/motor can flex there is plenty of brackets and mounts below!

If your motor is torquing away and cant move you can crack the upper motor mounts at the frame! Few people leave it few people remove it>

You make the call on your machine Mark Bladwin and Laz from GT THUNDER was enough info for me to make my decision.
We ran the whole 12hrs of america and won the Bclass with my team and there was no problems and that was torture!
