Guys, I'm 16 years old and currently own a 300ex. I race XC in district 6 in the sport class and hopefully will run a few GNCC's next year. However, I am seriously considering getting a 400ex. I know that running the C class in the PA State Harescramble Series, I will go up against people on 450r's (and people that should be riding in the B class). I'm thinking about keeping the 300 for one more year and getting maybe some shocks and racing it in 2005. Then maybe, end up buying either a TRX or YFZ in 1-2 years. What should I do? Thanks

Well if your 16, its time to step up from a 300ex... racing with people faster with you will help you gain experience and get faster... dont just race because you want to do good... upgrade to a 400ex or z400 or maybe go righ to a trx450...

Put it this way at age 13 I had my second dirtbike a CR250R, My first quad was a 400ex at 15. You decide:D I would personally say get a z400 or save some money and get a 400ex. You will never get your money back for all the mods you will put in your 300ex. My $.03;)

I am probably gonna get a 400ex....not even close to enough money right now to buy a YFZ or a TRX.

Good choice, I was always a big dude working out and stuff so I needed the extra power, a 450 may just beat the cr*p out of you LOL.

but if money is a big issue. then keep it you can keep a good pace on a 300ex if youll just stay in the gas. I have a KFX400 and that is what usually race but last week the parts didnt come in so i had to race my brother blaster. you can still go out there and stay with some of the bigger CC quads if you stay on the gas.
