I've been wanting more power for a while now, ive been debateing on weather or not to get a z, 400ex, or a raptor.....well any way, i am prolly just going to keep mine, and hop up the motor....i want to bore it to a 330....i was wanting to know what all i would need, i was thinking about a JE 330 piston, a w/b cam, a w/b valve kit, and does LA sleeve make a 80mm sleeve? i will probably be doing it myself, because i only have 550 dollars.....

gthunder makes a 350 kit thats just about the same price as a 330. you will need a piston kit, sleeve, good cam, HD valve springs, carb (400ex arb works fine) and a good port job ad remove the rev limiter to get the most out of it, otherwise really your just blowing your money. gthunder can build the whole thing cheap quick and reliable. and there quite a bit faster than a 330

i'm in the process of putting in a fst 330 kit. i did'nt want to bore the cases that's why i did not buy the gthunder 350, but had to split the cases anywhy. wish i had got the 350. oh well.

i have a profab 330 kit in mine, and i really didnt notice much of a difference because i had the .020 stock with a wiseco 11:1, and the cam, rockers, hd valve springs, and stainless valves.. then put the 330 on, and didnt notice anything. so we're getting the head port/polished with bigger valves and a 3 angle valve job.. and that should do the trick ;)

yeah, you really need port work to notice a difference in any of these bigger 300ex kits

If you get the 330 kit from Micky Donlap you don't have to split your cases.

if your cases dont line up you do have to bore. some 300s are this way, his paper work says to check it, mine needed it and how else do you bore the cases without the crank and tranny in.

"As far as the sleeve I KNOW Wiseco makes it, I"m ordering an 81mm from them :) You should definetly be able to do the 330 for $550 I hope anyway, are you doing this yourself or having someone do it?? Thats where they get you is labor I bet!! Good luck :)

We didn't have to bore the cases at all, that's what I'm saying. Sounds like you got a different kit or were unlucky.
