Today i went down to my friends house and rode with him and his new 450r. Well when i went to the delaer to get oil for mine they said to run the 10w40 in the motor side and the honda hp trans oil the 80/85w in the tranny. When he went to the same dealer they said 10w40 in both waht do you guys run?

That is what I used to run I have switched to the belray thumper oil on both sides! I like it alot. Seems in better condition after about the same amount of riding time.

I run HP4 with moly on engine side ( must be broken in ) and Honda 80/85wt on tranny ( red bottle ). Red bottle says for 2-cycle motors, but works well on 450R tranny.:muscle:

I read both the manual and the back of the GN4 honda 10w40 oil and the manual says GN4 is fine, and the bottle says it is for use in all honda tranny's. So i changed mine and put GN4 in both sides.......

what's with mobil 1 red cap, is it synthetic, is there something wrong with the suggest honda GN4 10w40 that I don't know about????

honda gn4 is garbage..the mobile 1 red cap or amsoil synthetic is where its at now..you put the tranny fluiod in the right side of the engine

do you have some reasoning behind this claim, it's like saying that valvoline is the worst engine oil made, there is no validity to your statement if you have no explanation......if you had a bad experience with it please share as others may learn from it....

yeah i was runnin honda tranny fluid, and then i had to change it because i added to wrong side, but anyways i out 10-40 and i have a heck of a tim tryin to find neutral. and before never had the problem. i am positive it has to be the oil. i need to switch back to honda trans fluid.:ermm:
