I was wondering if anyone can tell me much about a tom carlson 425 engine kit. I have a 416 kit right now and it is fast enough to out run a stock 450r with a pipe but it doesnt get it off the line by much. I am thinking seriously about buying this kit. I have heard that these 425 kits make a ex wicked but nobody I know has one, so maybe one of you can tell me about it.

To me, it wouldn't benefit that much to upgrade to a 425 from a 416! I went from a 406 to a 425 and only gained more pull (torque)! Personally, I wouldn't do it but you would be better off going 440! I'm not trying to tell ya what to do, its only my opinion. Good luck with your decision:D

I would stay with a 416 seeing as how its much more reliable than a 440;)

i have a tc 425 motor. All i can say is the power is intense. I have the 924 MX cam in it, and the power range is from bottom to top. It really screams from mid to top though. To get a picture, i finally raced a yfz 450 a few weeks ago. The yfz was stock. The race was close off the line, then i pulled away. The end result was about 6 lengths at about 100yds

If you want reliability with power from TC the 450 Natioal Stroker motor is eaons better than the 440 and much better off the line and out of corners than the 425! The 425 revs a little quicker but the 450 has much more tourqe!! I pull modded YFZ's and 426's every week!! And I weigh 265lbs.. Not bas for a Fat *** huh???
