I pulled the top end apart tonight after about 100 hours of MXing.
The piston and rings looked good. There was no blow-by and no signs of stress fractures.
The cylinder also looked good. There were just a few sand scratches in there and none were deep enough to catch a finger nail on.
The cylinder was quite smothe. The factory hone thaching was visible but I couldn't feel it. The cylinder was slick like glass.
How will the new rings seat on the smothe cylinder wall? I would normally hone an iron sleeve but I've never had a nakasil cylinder before.
Do I hone it to help seat the new piston and rings?
Thanks, Steve
