I just got done putting my 426 together. It has a je piston, 479 grind web cam, port and polish, power pros pipe, 39fcr. I had trouble getting it started. Got it started with some wd40 in the intake. It ran great, idled good, drove it around it was perfect. Then I shut it off for about five minutes then tried to start it and it wouldnt start again. The carb worked perfect on my 406. Now it seems like it isnt getting any gas at startup. The carb is jetted with a 168 main,3rd clip from top, 2 and a half on the fuel screw. What the heck is the problem.

Do you a have a cheap White Bros CDI/rev box? What is your pilot size? what if you pump the gas about 2 times before you start it? is it firing at all or is it just turning over?

I have a magnum rev box. Yes it has fire. Tryed bumping gas. It will start if i spray wd 40 in it.. Runs great when I get it started.

I mean before you start the quad not running but with the key should be on the on position and then pump the gas about two times before you start it. also it could be you CDI/rev box. did you ever have problems with that box before with starting?

have you tried messing with your air/mixture screw at all?? I don't think your rev box would be the problem, I have the same one with no problems. Just to try hook the battery charger up and try to start it. If it starts...than you know its your rev box;)

Do they just go bad or what?

Yes a CDI box can go bad but if it did you would have no spark. Sounds like to me your pilot curcuit in that fcr needs cleaned. You need a 52 pilot with the fuel screw 1.5 turns out. If you are still having problems give us a call and We will try to help.

yeah man, they do go bad. When I first got my 416 done, my magnum rev box blew out and it took me a while to figure out that was my problem. Sounds Colby knows what your problem is, give him a call at C&D racing, he will hook you up;)
