i am wanting to put a crf450 eventually in my 400ex...i heard that you can just buy new motor mounts that bolt to ur stock frame. is this true? if not who all does the conversion and around how much does it coste?

There are many threads on this do a search... In short, it is a long project to do it correctly. There is alot more involved than motor mounts. the frame must be modified, spacers need to be used to line up the chain and sprocket, radiator mounts must be added, a custom exhaust must be used, and much more. Basically there are 3 real good reputable places to get your frame modified for this conversion and get all the parts.... JB Racing, East Coast ATV, and ATV 4-Play. I personally would check out JB before the others because they seem to have the best price and do top notch work. Atv 4play would be my second choice to be economical. ECATV I believe is the most expensive.....

i dont know any thing about putin one but i do thes damn thing will run like hell im putin one in my 400ex one day to:)

the 450 motor will fit. we were going to do that before the production class came out. overall it may be worth it, but you wont be production anymore. its going to cost you around 2500 and higher. it will be a project for ya too.
