Timing with degree key

I have a sparks timing advance key. Where do I place the flywheel when timing? Do I still use the T mark?

the T mark won't be exact top dead center anymore. it is close though. i am thinking it is alittle past the mark. maybe, right at the T instead of the mark. try a search. i know this has been discussed before.
