View Full Version : Rear shock rebuild/conversion

I was planning on rebuilding my rear shock, but i have heard so many different things on who to have do the rebuild. Elka, PEP, or TCS. I have elka long travel fronts, so i was going to have them rebuild my stock rear, but i heard that there is not enough travel in the stock shock to use their SSD dual rate conversion. PLEASE ADVISE!

Note: bike is a 250R

Go with the quad shop and get your rear fixed up with there elka treatment, i mean you already have the front u might as well make a whole system, im sure u like the fronts enough. I would reccomend the rear at the quad shop to anyone who has ssd on the front or not they can do either way. For the 300$ its where my rear is going too.

We have done more Elka MacDaddy rear conversions than I can count. The feedback has been outstanding! I recently had one person complain that it was too stiff for him, he sent it back and we revalved it and sent it back to him, he said "its perfect now". There are lots of people here that should be able to give you lots of feedback on their rear conversions.

I've paid for the conversion through Jeff at the quadshop, I just need to get my lazy butt in gear and send it in :)

I'll let you know once I get them back...

I didn't have my rear shock done at the quadshop but I can say a rebuild on a stock shock,,and having it setup for the riders specific needs is well worth the money..
