1986 250R bored .010 over, cool head, 12.5 to 1 compression, 38mm air stryker, no air box lid, 110 octain. ESR TRX-6 pipe, which is the low end pipe. Thinking of going to a LRD adjustable pipe. Trying for quick acceleration, like drag racing. Also considering a lightened flywheel. Looking for some opinions. Thanks in advance.

It is obvious that I am an Eddie Sanders guy.Their have a trx 5 or trx 11 centermount pipe. The trx11 is for draging and hillclimbing (peak top end performance) and the trx5 still for draging or duning but is the choice if you are going to play around more. You cannot have an air box because it is a center mount and the silencer stops about half way underneath the seat. You also have to have a wider front end because the pipe comes out the expansion chamber gets massive in a hurry. The pipe has virtually no stinger so it lets to motor breath a ton better. Using the pipe can be compared to using an oversized radiator. ESR also has a large selection of other pipes that are awsome pipes and are not center mount. The trx 5 pipe and silencer is $279 and requires a couple things for the set up and the TRX 11 pipe is $350 and comes with the silencer. It also requires the mounting kit and the airbox elimination kit.

One of the guys I ride with has the trx11 with a stock front end, no problems. He just had to cut the front plastic a little bit. It works well for him, his bike (a 330r) is a beast. The other guy I ride with has an ESR all around pipe (on a 310r) and he loves it. I have an FMF Fatty on my 89r which has a stock bore, and it works great for me, but I would like to try the ESR on my bike.

Is it the trx 11 centermount pipe? or the one that is outside the frame?

It is a regular mount pipe, and it is freakin huge.

I have the TRX5 on mine. It fits just fine. Had to trim the corner of the plastic just a tad. Fits great with no problems. I run an FMF silencer in the stock location. The TRX5 is their "all around " pipe.

So the 6 is the low end
5 is middle
and 11 is the top end pipe? 11 is the largest diameter? 6 is the smallest?

This is actually my buddies 4 wheeler.
I have an ATC with a DG pipe and I'm thinking of going to an ESR ATC-5. My bike is mostly stock.

Yes thats correct. the 6 is supposed to give you better bottom end, the 5 is their all around pipe, meaning you'll gain all around in power but not as well as a pipe designed for a specific use such as a 6 (bottom) or 11 (top) .

that atc-5 is far better than a dg, I had a fmf and the power signed off quick(lo-mid), from what I'm told a dg is mostly low end, the atc-5 is a awesome pipe. If your bike has the short rod(no spacer plate), you got to remove/trim the front skid plate(its a big pipe).

Go with the trx 5 pipe. I have it and I love it. I've heard several other guys with the trx 6 pipe who say they can't feel any more low end power vs the trx5 even though the trx 6 is supposed to be designed for low end.

We ordered 2 of them. A TRX-6 for my buddy and an ATC-5 for me. Since we ordered 2 I got them to drop the price $40.
