I think overall, the Blaster has more potential. The 300 has elec start and reverse though, so its a tough choice. More mods are required for the blaster, but I think if you put one together right performance would be amazing. I just dont see a 300ex putting 40 + hp with $1000 where as the blaster could (CT sonic 240 kit). As I start to get more serious about GNCC racing, I dont know what to go with. Any info appreiated.

Bradly300 would be perfect for this topic since he has both and races XC.

ok, so if you can get 40hp on a blaster..... why in the hell would you do that? i am going to take a guess and say its not going to be very useable, nor reliable. i mean just think, 40hp 240cc air cooled..... its not like you can put an oil cooler on it....

if you put every single mod on the baster and bore it the max it can go and take the 300ex and put all the mods on it and bore it the max it can go and put the same type of riders on it. i say the blaster has no way of beating a 300ex because a 300ex has more power

I HATE BLASTERS BUT A MODDED BLASTER WOULD SMOKE A FULLY MODDED 300EX.

I used to have a blaster and when i raced woods it was mostly the rider all i had motor mod wise was a Paul Turner pipe, otherwise the rest was in shocks, dampeners, and tires. I had no prob. beatin 300ex's. A year before they came out with the Quadsport class, I raced Quad B and got 15th overall final points. In HS and XC it has a lot to do with the rider and luck.

My first quad was a 91 blaster and that is what I started racing with. All I did was a pipe and had the swing arm leathend 1 inch. Do not do a bolt on to it have the arm cut and a pice put in. The rest was in shocks and tires. The bike ran great and in the woods it was fast and easy to handle. in the open areas I could get out powered by alot of quads but if your fast in the woods your hard to beat in xc racing. Go with the blaster and donot over mod it.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I thought the Youth Productions class did NOT allow overbore. I thought the motor on the blaster would have to stay at 200cc as the 300EX would have to stay at 300cc.

Assuming that is correct lets talk about a 200cc blaster vs a 300cc 300EX.

No there is not a limit to mods in the sport class. You only have to have the stock chasis I believe and the matching motor. Past that you can do whatever ya want.

There is a 350cc limit in the sport class!

a mod blaster will not smoke a 300ex because i race one with the same modd as me

I have ridden both qauds stock, and i would rather perfer, the 300ex, But when i see them at the GNCC's. The 300's seem to be upfront alot, But the blasters arnt that far behind!

Just go look at some of the results from GNCC racing, And see who is upfront, But i think when u start tricking out the BOTH QUADS, They should be about even, After so many mods, The rest is determind by the rider!
If i could build a sport class quad, I would like to run the 300ex, For the tourgue, reverse, And i would like to put 2+ a-arms, and mabey a 2+ or more swinger, with a 350 bore! And get a nice shock setup, and u should be set!!! JUST my opnion!

when both are built to the max in motor and suspension, the blaster will be MUCH faster but the 300 will handle better. electric start is nothing special, and the blasty is extrmely easy to kick. the blaster is alot lighter wich i think helps me not wear out as fast. the blasty is also a much more fun quad to ride. honestly they will be so close you cant say one is better. also remebr that a 300ex is winning the class, but there arent any riders of bensons caliber on blaster of his 300's caliber either, so who knows

i'm on a blaster now b/c i had a 300ex for 3 years and wanted something new and different. all i can say is i wont be riding 300ex's anymore;)

sorry but your dead wrong, blasters are faster stock vs. stock and mod for mod. trust me, i have done a total stock to full race build on BOTH of these quads in the past 3 years
