View Full Version : Rear Brake Caliper Froze Up

i have a 95 300ex and the rear brake caliper ceased up on me. does anybody know what usually causes that and what parts should i buy to fix it.

Could be the guide pins that the pads slide on are rusted all to hell.

Does your brake pedal move.. it could be siezed up and need greased.

naw the footpedal is unhooked. when me and my dad kept having to put rear axle bearings in it we found out it was the brakes being locked up somwhat. anywayz we tried to put new pads on it and the little piston u have to move to get the new pads on was ceased. what could be causing that.

dirt , mud possibly even corrosion.

you can use air pressure to pop out the cylinder if needed just watch your fingers. it will really nail you when and if it releases.

you will probably need a new cylinder and seals but maybe able to clean up the old cylinder but ya wont know till ya get it apart
