i have a 2000 400ex and it has a full yoshi pipe, edlebrock qwicksilver carb, and a K&N air filter I was looking a the sparks timing key and was wondering is it worth 20 bucks. does any one have one on their quad? what kind of power increases did you get? and how hard is it to install?

Definatly worth getting! Mine woke right up after installing the key and a K&N filter also jetting. I think that you will like it. Cheap power.

you won't necessarily have more power but the throttle response will be more crisp.

I have heard that even Sparks doesn't reccommend using it:confused: I have also heard thier are reliability problems once installed.I don't know this as a fact but a couple of years ago I was asking the same questions and I was easily talked out of it.

they don't recommend them for high compression engines because they add more heat. as for reliability I have never had a problem and I have been running it for over a year. in fact I have never heard of any one having a problem because of that key.:ermm:

my motor made it 2 season with the key and 11:1 compression with ease, had to run race fuel though :o

my 426 EX with 13-1 piston was just fine with it. but I was told that when I went to my 463 motor to not use it due to them breaking on stroker motors!

Exactly. I put one in my 400ex about a year ago. The throttle response is sick. It will feel a lot faster.

do they make one for a 300ex and would it work right with a 12:1 compression i have to run preminum now?
