Im looking for an affordable but decent handlebar riser, probably no more than 2 inches. Any suggestions? I would prefer to retain the stock 7/8 bars but Im open to ideas. Also would new cables and brake hoses be necessary? I was looking at the Rox Risers and I looked at the trailtech setup but Im not sure if 1'' is enough. Is the Tag setup considered risers or does that just replace the stock clamps? Thanks

I would say you'll need a brake hose.
I just put a set of MSR Dominator ATV bends on and I'm going to have to do something cause mine is at the point where it's starting to stretch. I posted about it but still no response...

Are you putting them on atc? I just looked at december dirt wheels and liked the rox risers with moose bars and handguards. Haven't looked at atc in person with any kind of good handlebar stuff so I don't know if anything works. Anyways I've seen ads in the mags about braided brake lines made to any length. If I find it I'll post it. When I get ready to spend some money I'm wanting to redo my handlebars and brake lines.

im thinking of getting a high bend bar myself. since i have the trailtech clamp i think that would put me a lil over 1 inch over stock height. i saw the rox setup on the moose 450r and wow that is sweet.

I found some Galfer extended brake lines for the front (+2") in the Rocky Mtn. ATV catalog for $98.99. Stainless steel braided. Look prettty nice.
Also have rear for $35-ish.

I have the Rox 2" risers with pro taper's Kevin Windham replica bars (cr high bend). My stock brake line was the only thing that was too short, but I just unbolted it and bent the brake line up and it works fine.

yup, I did just that this morning and it's fine. I slid the rubber piece under the metal bracket up a little after removing the bracket and put a ziptie around it so the metal doesn't slap together.

Thats some good info powerstroker. I always knew there was a way to bend something to make something else fit. I am not putting the risers on my atc, atc86r. What I have been trying to do is get my 450r to have the same ergonomics to my 350x with the bar height to seat height, pull back, rise, width etc. Ive been riding 350x's now for 4 years, atcs for 11 years and the 350x is the most comfortable thing to me. The front end of the 450r is to low and Im too stretched out to comfortably ride it. I have pix of me jumping my 350x and my 450r and the 350x im in a good position knees bent back slightly arched on the 450r im hunched over like an old man leaning way over the front end, not comfortable at all.

Powerstroker, does the Rox aluminum dash fit the key and temp light into it?

While you think about what you are going to do with the risers, you could take another top part of the bar clamp, flip it upsidedown with the original clamp. Use longer bolts from a hardware store and you have a cheap very usable sample of what a 1" riser would be. If you like it, leave it and ride. It should be fine, it works with warriors.

Thats a good idea, but I believe I need some more sweep as well to bring the bars closer to me.
