250X topend on 300EX bottom?

I have a buddy that has a 250X. Its his wifes bike and we just installed a high compression piston and now she cant start it due to a bad ankle. He found a 300EX bottom end that he might be able to pick up real cheap. He is wondering if he will be able to put his topend on the 300 bottom end. He has a brand new piston, so he was wanting to reuse that if possible. I know the stroke is different on the two, so the wrist pin hole might not be the same height on the pistons. Anybody know anything about this? Will a new piston be needed?

yes it will fit, but if you're gonna put the 300ex bottom end on it. you're gonna need ALL the electronics from a 300ex... and i could hook u up with that, as long as you send me the 250x wiring..just a thought because im doin the exact opposite as you.. puttin 250x bottom end on 300ex top end. lol

I think the wiring will come with the bottom end. Do you know if he will be able to use his 250 piston?
