Im going to be putting my 416 and xr cam in this week and i was wondering if i need the moly lube my mechanic says he just uses some normal greese on the cam before putting everything back together so he dosent have any moly lube. Will this be ok or should i go to the Evil yamaha dealer to see if they have any

Don't use regular grease! Any auto parts store, or automotive engine machine shop should have some. Make sure you squirt some oil into the cam and fill up the "pocket" in the head (at the sprocket end of the cam) before you put the cover back on.

I used Bel-Ray lube for mine. It cost about $7, and you can use it for everything (on the cam, the bolts, etc). I ran it for 3 15-20 minute periods (never letting it idle w/ the new cam) & switched the oil. It worked great.
