My parents never gave in to me getting an ATV. I was so young when i first wanted one that one of the powerwheels that runs on a battery would have been a dream. My uncles ended up buying me a honda 200x 3-wheeler behind their back when i was in 8th grade. Once i had one they could not stop me. I later got a polaris which was a huge mistake, then a 300 ex, now i am 20yrs old and have a sweet 350R. Just set up some rules with them like always wearing a helmet and whatever they want to make them happy. Tell them what they want to hear and once you get it you are golden, and the rules you set down before will slowly be forgetten... Good luck

always wanted one. got a 83 suzuki 125 off my uncle for free until it broke, didnt have breaks or suspension either. then i got a 500 dollar dirt bike until that broke, then finally my dad bought some mountain property and he bought me a nice z400. im pretty damn happy i got 1 and ill probaly never complain about gettin a new quad again

my parents didnt want me having one, as my dad is a firefighter and had seen too many things go wrong. when i was 12, my granddad told me i could work for his 230 quadrunner. i worked the hardest weeks worth ever, but got to bring home the ol suzuki. after about 6 months, i wanted a 400ex so bad i could taste it. my parents knew how much i enjoyed it, and after helping them all summer, they helped me get a used on. after getting used to the power and modding it so much it wasnt rideable, i got a 2003 predator just as they came out. a mistake at first, but i absolutely love my predator, and in a few weeks, you may see why:devil:

us dads are suckers for that and besides, its easier to convince the wife if she thinks its for the kid:devil:

I would get a part time job. Save some money this winter and offer to pay for half the quad next summer. Showing responsibility will get you further than begging.

Just convince him that you are going to get a job to help pay for it. I am 22 and have had 3 different quads so far, all of which I have paid for with my own money from working (I am a fulltime college student as well). Unless you are not old enough to work, get a job and actually use your own money to help out. I know some people out there are used to mommy and daddy buying them whatever they want but there are actually people that use their own money to buy their quads and parts.

i got my self a paper route for 2 years and saved that money and birthday money and got 1400 and bought my 01 blaster myself then the motor seized and had to get a job and earn another 900 dollares and just got the motor back the other day so get a job or a paper route and when u earn the money keep a job incase something happens or u want parts. Just tell your parents you will follow their rules and quickly most of the rules will be gone and tell them you will stay out of trouble keep good grades and pay for as much as you can yourself if you dont pay for it all.

My dad didn't want me getting one. So i convinced him to buy a 800$ blaster and it has just gone from there. We started by building that up. Then i got a 450, and raced that out.

ive been trying for the longest time, but every time it gets ready to happen something ends up coming up to stop it. like recently the o2 sensor went out on the car. ive been trying to make a deal with them ill sell one of my cars to buy half of the quads and see if they will finance the other, because if so then ill be able to buy a 450! what jacked up though they've bought my brother a dirtbike then he sold it

450rJam
08-02-2007, 03:26 PM
your spoiled,
sell one of your cars and buy a used atv
or keep crying until they give in

jag09
08-02-2007, 04:23 PM
i only wish i was spoiled, only reason i say cars is because of my brother, and if i was spoiled i would already have it you dip****. plus everything i own ive bought or earnedd some way

450rJam
08-02-2007, 07:17 PM
o2 sensors run about 65 bucks and take like 20 min. to change.

you bought or earned everything you have but you cant buy or earn a quad ? ok
your brother sold the dirtbike THEY bought him, but you earned all your stuff? ok

are you a politician ?

well ya called this one wrong. they'd rather me have a car then a quad, they dont want me skating or inline skating, they'd rather me study constantly and play a sport than do stuff outside of school but im already booked with stuff for school, so iwant something for weekends

Here is my two cents...go get a job and buy one for yourself. My parents would never get me a quad (or a vehicle), so I had to work for what I wanted. I sucked at the time because all my friends had cool toys and I had nothing, but looking back now I would not have wanted it any other way...it taught me to appreciate things more.

i just begged my dad for a week and told him id pay him back. So he went out and baught me a 07 polaris. We used to have 4 quads but we sold them all for money issues now that we r all back up i jsut told them that i wanted one and got all my freinds to beg. But after having a polaris for 3 months it broke. And now i want a blaster and i have to pay for it myself.

i wish i could beg and get one for my birthday like somepeople but in other ways not. i saved my bank acount since i was about 6. of course money then was notin like 100 dollars a year. when i was 11 me and my friend started doing yard clean ups and such. worked my but off from 11 - 13. doing what ever i could. the day came when i had enough, i got that 05 left over 300 ex. the day of my life. now i have a homemade snowplow that i use to make money to maintaine it and aftermarket parts. im glad. it gives me a life leason. teaches me i have to work for goals i want. also i feel like i take better care for it know how hard i worked for it rather than it being handed to me. i also have to pay for gas (sucks!!!!)

say to him look i know your a smart person and you spent alot of money on my health insurance and the only way you will ever see that money or the insurance put to good use is if i get hurt so thats why i want a quad so you wont look like a moron for spending money on that insurance lol worth a try lmao.
