quick fix

i just had some aluminum +2 tie rod ends shipped to me.. theyre about 2mm too thick and i cannot get the tie rod ends on them.. can i ask for my neighbors drill and tap set and open the inside of the ends up a little so theyll fit? or what kind of quick fix can i do to make these fit right.. i dont want to order new ends because i have a race this weekend and i need to get some practice in beforehand...

PS i have stock size ends..
