This may sound stupid but i cant get my top a-arm off the spindle. is there a trick or is the spindle threaded?

get some of them ball joint fork things..they work good!!!
you just have to be careful not to screw up the rubber boot!

i have learned to leave them alone unless absolutely need to come off.. I agree the forks are extremely nice, but you gotta be very careful.

Motion Pro makes a ball joint removal tool. Cost somewhere around $25.00. It damages nothing and is very easy to use.

I dont care if it gets ruined. some idiot ran into me with a dirtbike and ruined it.

just beat it out of there if you dont care... get some wd40 and soak it with it and smash that thing out

i had this same problem. I took a long bolt, ran it through the bottom hole and to the top bolt, and tapped it with a hammer a few times until it popped loose.

I just removed both my upper and lower a-arms by using a pickle fork and a BFH. I sprayed the ball joint bolts down with some penetrating spray and then put the pickle fork in place. Be careful so you don't rip a boot like I did. And then take a couple whacks at it and it should pop out. I removed mine so I could paint them.

get a brass rod and beat it with a hammer the brass is softer than the threads on the joint so it won't mess them up
