i beleive dennis kirk carries kibblewhite valves for the 400ex that are oversized. if not, try duncan racing. you do know that with the oversize valve, you will have to get a valve seating job done and port/polish

the valves are around 70 a peice i believe, then the valve job and porting will be around 300. be an awesome mod with a big bore kit though and a good exhaust, and a cam, and a carb.....and ,..and....lol:D

i thought they were like $30 per valve. but i don't know. if it would make a difference i would do it with my 426. i just don't know if it would make a nice difference. i already have an aggressive port job.

well just think about it this way....with 3mm larger valves in both say 15 mm intake ports, that should equal a 20%increase in air flow with a good port job...i could be wrong:confused:

it'll be worth it, im getting bigger valves put on my 300ex head along with a 3 angle valve job, and a port and polish job done by GT Thunder. i already got a cam, rockers, hd springs w/ TI retainers, and all that

the 300ex head is more restrictive than a 400ex's head. the stock head on a 400ex isn't all that bad. i do have an aggressive port job but stock valves. 3mm would be way way over kill. i think chef is only running +2 and he has to be well over 50 horsepower. most people recommend +1's on the intake side and that is it. i don't even think +3's will fit in the head properly.

I am pretty sure Chef runs +3 intake and +2 exhaust. I do imagine the velve seats require major mods to make that happen though. +1 on both is plenty enough flow for 99% of these motors.

yeah, you could be right. i remembering him telling me he wanted one thing and he ended up getting 1mm larger than that. i really don't remember.

what is a 3-angle valve job? I know white bros has kibblewhite valves for about 30 each

The area where the valves seat when they are closed. The 3 angles on the lip are: 30, 45, and 60 degree angles. You can feel the angles with your finger when you rub your finger along the edge.

is this just opening up the valve pocket so the new valves will fit?
