I saw a set of Pro Tapers break off on my buddies Pedator. He was just riding through a creek bottom and one side fell off in his hand.We had to jam a stick in it to limp it back to the truck.

My 400ex had Renthals on it when I got it, don't think I ever seen that happen on anything though, all my dirt bikes had steel handle bars.

I snapped a set of renthals on my shee i was riding in a frozen pond and there was a small lip to get out of the pond. so i tried wheelieing out of it. so i hit the gas and pulled back a little bit and they snapped right in half. i didnt contact renthal because the bars were on the bike when i bought it

I was mid wheelie pulling 4th gear and the right side of my cousin's rusted out Suzuki 230 stock bars broke off. Talk about scary.

yeah i noticed that on alot of the 450R's the grab bar isnt strong at all. there are a few people with them were i live that were riding wheelies and they bent them over to the back of there seats or snaped them off. they are really weak!!

 Kinda Scary:eek:

How is it that you guys break bars on a wheelie but others can jump forty foot doubles all day??

Not to highjack the thread but I am getting new bars pretty soon and I want to know which one's to avoid! Any suggestions for lightweigt but strong bars. I mostly ride trails but a little MX and Dunes are in the near future!

thnx

p.s. I tend to ride a little heavy on my hands, both on 4 wheeler and my streetbike so strength would be a higher priority over super lightweight design.

That sucks, its great that Tag is standing by their product though..

Kinda makes me worried since I have a pair of their T2 bars... :ermm:

Have you rolled with the bars at all before this happened?

I've got a set of FLY Handlebars. Not real sure exactly what they are called but they rock.. They're like high rise bars or something but I love them..

I was riding through a trail and got my front tire snagged on a log so i turned the handle bar and it snapped.
