Just purchased a 2002 400 ex and I would like to get the most bang for the buck. Currently checking out Ebay and other auction sites on new mods. Would like to know what mods I can do that will give the best bang for the buck? I have read reviews about various exhaust systems but magazines can lean towards sponsors sometime. I have heard about Big Gun exhaust and found one on ebay new for under $100. As well as FMF and
White brothers. I have about $1000. to spend and a brother with a 400ex that ways 70 lbs. less I have to blow away in a couple months. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks...................I think.

Wait until your engine is broken in all the way until you do some engine mods.

You can get a full LRD chrome exhuast system, K&N power kit, and the marcums 416 kit with a xr400 cam and viton valve seals. You will REALLY notice a HUGE power increase and this is the best bang for your buck! This should all cost you alittle over 800 bucks to your door.;) Definatly wait about 6 months until doing any of these mods.:D

:) I appreciate all of your help. The bike is only a couple months old & still has less than 20 hrs on the engine. I'm just one of those more power type persons.:D

Just a little brotherly competion going on, huh. Its all good. I'll see your skills and machine in June so get ready. Call me.

For starters you can get a K&N power kit, with no air box lid on. Also adjust your throttle cable to fully open when wide open. Mine was only opening about 80% from factory. But like exracer said wait till broken in before you get inside the engine.
