Why do they put a plastic swingarm skidplate on the 450r? Went out today and bought a Pro-Armor Skid looks alot better and makes me feel better about rocks on the trail's.

Its a lot beefier than the stocker on my Z400. You should invest in an engine skid, also.

they arent really cheap...the plastic skids just save weight.

for the average rider or mx'er the stock skid is fine..... but if your going to go ride over 1 foot rocks then ofcourse it wont hold up.

i think the yfz only has mini skids under the bake rotor and sprocket and not under the whole swingarm

its because the 450r is a mx quad...that skid plate is ment to be brought home and ripped off...

can you snap a pic of your skid from the rear? I want to see what the ground clearance looks like with the Pro Armor skid.
