That engine's not going to last one, mainly because it's a Blaster:p .

So was it the back part of the exhaust or the expansion chamber part? I dont think it would even run without the pipe on it...that is a big part of a 2 stroke.

it will worp the valves

exatak199
10-23-2004, 08:34 PM
yaa it would for sure burn up all the valves that the blaser doesn't have:ermm:

and yes a 2 banger will run with out an expansion chamber not very well tho. I had a old 197? yammy 80cc 2 stroke and the one day the spring on the pipe came off wile i was rideing and i had to drive home with no pipe, it was loud and no power band (bout half a mile out in the back field)

yeah man, two strokes dont have valves... There isnt anything to warp, or burn up. the only thing in the top of the head is a chamber.

if a 4 stroke is run with no header, it will definatly burn up the exhaust valve(s)

idk my 2 strokes but thats what will happen with a 4 stroke lol

If the guy was doing it on purpose... then hes an idiot. Its an open entrance into the motor and its not good for the motor at all

I cant believe that people think that it is good for their quad to run it without either a header or a muffler.:ermm:

When you're taking ur back pipe off then you can take the airbox out and the carb...i heard its better for the quad

Yeah, take off your airbox and air fliter while yur at it, It just adds weight and slows the air down. :huh :huh

Might as well take your engine out too! Just extra weight on your frame, a kid at my school thinks his Banshee frame is pretty sweet! :huh (true story).

i will have to dissagree about no valves on a two stroke. They are power valves and they work with the exaust for your power band. To finish this, that guy needs beat with a rather large blunt object.

what would happen to the motor? rings would fry, itd also run really really crappy because most the fuel and air isnt being burnt, just going right threw..... kids these days.-darren

Not all 2-strokes have powervalves. The Banshee and Blaster don't have powervalves, neither did the 250R. That's an aftermarket option on those engines.

There is also reed valves, but thats before the air gets to the motor, so i doubt to much could happen to them..... Everyone who thinks its ok to run without a headpipe, or whatever, try it and please tell me how it works ? I've been wanting to know

What the heck?:huh dude there are no valves in a 2 stroke. tHey have reeds. The "power valves" your talking about are exhaust ports in your sleeve. ports not valves. I also dont think it would hurt your engine to run it with no muffler. Is it gonna burn the valves? Maybe. Why? Running to lean. If re-jetted it would be ok. We ran race cars and go-carts for full seasons with straight pipes on them and no problems. You would loose back pressure and it would sound stupid loud but people run race engines all the time with no mufflers.

Well every Dirtbike 125/250 i have worked on that where from 92 and up had them. Check with a professional, they could set you rigth, as for banshee and blasters, i never got to play with the engines to see. I know they are there because my freind broke one in his rm 125.

The ONLY factory quad to my knowledge that had a powervalve system was one or two years of the suzuki LT250. Yea, dirtbikes have them, and guess what, they also advance at a MUCH faster rate than quads do...no matter what. The manufacturers, until lately, just havent really cared about the quads. I know for a fact factory Banshee cylinders dont have powervalves...I own one.

The Kawasaki tecate-4's had factory power valve cylinders but they were only made for 2 years.Other than that I don't know of any others.
